Market intelligence brief template for executive search
A market intelligence brief tells a client what the market looks like for a search or a hiring plan: the headline facts, the trends, who the competitors are, how much leadership talent there is and how interested it is, what it is paid, and what that means for the search. This PowerPoint template sets it out in the firm's brand: a cover; key findings, each with its figure and source; market trends and the competitive landscape; talent availability, skills in demand and typical moves; compensation benchmarks; and implications for the search, with the sources used. Formatix fills it from research notes, reports, deal lists, pay surveys and notes of market soundings, copying every figure as the sources state it.
Clients increasingly want evidence before they commit to a brief: is the talent there, what will it cost, who else is hiring. A brief that answers those questions in the firm's format, with the source next to every figure, is worth more than a longer report nobody reads.

What you keep is the finished document: an editable Word, PowerPoint or Excel file.

Questions about this template
- What does a market intelligence brief contain?
- Three to five key findings, each with a headline figure and its source; the market trends; the competitive landscape, with each organisation's ownership and position; talent availability, the skills most in demand and typical career moves; compensation benchmarks by role, with base, bonus and long-term incentive; and the implications for the search, with the list of sources.
- Will it add market figures or competitors of its own?
- No. Every figure is copied as your documents state it, with its unit, period and source, and no new totals or growth rates are calculated. Only organisations your documents name appear in the competitive landscape.
- Are the compensation benchmarks estimated?
- No. Pay ranges appear only where your sources state them for that role; a gap is left empty rather than filled with a typical figure. Where the sources give no pay data, the benchmarks are left out.
- How are market soundings reported?
- As aggregate themes, such as "several interviewees said", never attributed to a named or identifiable person. Confidential soundings are listed generically among the sources.
- Is this a download?
- No. The deck is built in your brand inside Formatix and filled from your research; what you download is the finished PowerPoint file or PDF.
