About this tool
This free tool combines several Word documents (.docx) into one, in the order you choose, each starting on a new page. It merges them properly rather than pasting text: images, tables, numbered lists, styles, hyperlinks and footnotes come across. Use it for a shortlist of candidate profiles or a submission pack you still need to edit. No login, no upload.

When recruiters use it
Building a shortlist of candidate profiles that the client wants in Word so they can add notes, combining an interview summary with a CV, or assembling a board pack from several consultants' write-ups. Because it is a real merge rather than copy and paste, lists keep numbering and images stay where they were.
Worth knowing
- The whole merged file uses the first document's page setup, headers and footers. Later documents' headers and footers are dropped.
- Comments in the merged-in documents are removed.
- Where two documents define a style with the same name, the first document's version wins, so text can change font slightly.
- .docx only. Save older .doc files as .docx first.
Questions recruiters ask
- Will images and tables survive the merge?
- Yes. Images, charts, tables, lists, hyperlinks and footnotes are carried across with their references repaired.
- Why did the second document's header disappear?
- A Word file has one set of page settings per section, and the merge uses the first document's. Put your agency header in the first document.
- Are the documents uploaded?
- No. They are merged in your browser.
- Is there a limit to how many documents I can merge?
- No set limit. Very large packs are limited by your computer's memory, because the merge runs in your browser.
