About this tool

This free tool turns one sheet of an Excel workbook (.xlsx, .xlsm, .xls or .ods) into a CSV file, the format most ATS and CRM systems ask for when you import candidates, contacts or placements. Accented names stay intact. No login; the spreadsheet never leaves your browser.

When recruiters use it

Importing a candidate tracker into a new ATS, loading a client contact list into a CRM or an email tool, bulk-updating placement records, or sending a job board a feed. Import screens almost always want CSV, and they are fussy about separators and character encoding, which is where accented candidate names get mangled.

Worth knowing

A CSV holds one sheet. Pick the one you need; run the tool again for the next.
Formulas come out as their last calculated value. Formatting, colours, charts and merged cells are not part of CSV.
Leave the byte-order mark on if the CSV is going back into Excel, or accented names such as Müller come out garbled.
