US resume template (Letter)
A US resume is the format North American clients expect: US Letter paper, US spelling, classic section names and no photo. This Word template centres the name in capitals over a double rule, with the headline, location and availability beneath, then the classic sections under ruled small-capital headings: Professional Summary, Core Competencies in three columns, Professional Experience with company, title, location and dates on right tabs and achievement bullets, Education, and Certifications and Technical Skills. It is a single column with no photo and no text boxes. Formatix writes it from the CV in American English, keeps figures and currencies exactly as stated, and never adds a visa or work-authorization detail.
Agencies submitting to US and Canadian clients often have to turn a British A4 CV into a US resume: Letter paper, US spelling, different section names, no photo. This template does that every time, in your brand, without converting a figure or filling a gap in the dates.

Download or automate? The free download is a plain file you fill in by hand. In Formatix the template is rebuilt in your brand, with your logo, colours and fonts taken from your website, and filled from a CV or your notes in about a minute. What you keep is the finished document: an editable Word, PowerPoint or Excel file.
Ask for changes in plain words, such as "move the photo to the right" or "add a Languages section", and the template is updated with the rest of its formatting kept. If you already have a document you send clients, upload that instead and Formatix turns it into a template. How Studio builds templates
Questions about this template
- What changes from a UK CV?
- Letter paper instead of A4, American spelling, the US section names, achievements that start with a past-tense verb, and no photo. Dates are written the US way, such as "Mar 2022 – Present", only with the months the CV gives.
- Are pounds or euros converted to dollars?
- No. Figures and currencies are kept exactly as the CV states them.
- Does it include visa or work authorization?
- No. Visa, citizenship and work-authorization details are never printed, and availability, start date and relocation appear only as the CV or your notes state them.
- Is it readable by applicant tracking systems?
- It is a single column with no text boxes and no photo, so the text reads in order when a client's system extracts it.
