Editorial CV template
An editorial CV is a CV set like a feature page in a magazine: typography does the work instead of coloured blocks or a sidebar. This Word template opens with a centred masthead (the candidate's photo, or their initials when the CV has none, the name in large display type, the headline in italics and the location and availability as stated), then the profile as a pull quote, then a single book-width career column with the employer in small capitals, the dates on the right and the achievements on em-dash lines. Earlier career follows in a short list, and the CV closes with education, skills and languages in three centred columns. Formatix writes it from the CV and your notes and never invents an employer, date, figure or skill.
Some candidates, and some clients, want a CV that looks considered rather than templated: media, publishing, design, brand and communications roles in particular. This layout gives them that with type alone, and still reads in the order a hiring manager expects. The profile is written in the agency's voice, not put in the candidate's mouth.

Download or automate? The free download is a plain file you fill in by hand. In Formatix the template is rebuilt in your brand, with your logo, colours and fonts taken from your website, and filled from a CV or your notes in about a minute. What you keep is the finished document: an editable Word, PowerPoint or Excel file.
Ask for changes in plain words, such as "move the photo to the right" or "add a Languages section", and the template is updated with the rest of its formatting kept. If you already have a document you send clients, upload that instead and Formatix turns it into a template. How Studio builds templates
Questions about this template
- Is the pull quote a quotation from the candidate?
- No. It is a two or three sentence profile in the agency's voice about the candidate, set in large italic type. Formatix never puts words in the candidate's mouth.
- What if the CV has no photo?
- The masthead shows the candidate's initials in a circle instead.
- How long is it?
- One to two pages. It keeps up to five recent roles in full, with two to four achievements for the two most recent and one or two for older ones, and lists up to four earlier roles in one line each.
- Are notice period and location included?
- Only as the CV or your notes state them. Formatix never infers a notice period, availability, salary or willingness to relocate.
