Contractor profile template with day rate, IR35 and availability

A contractor profile is the short summary an agency sends a client with a contract submission: the terms first, then who the contractor is and what they have done recently. This Word template keeps it to one or two pages in the agency's brand: the contractor's name, headline and the consultant presenting them; a plain terms table for availability, day rate, IR35 status, location, remote or on-site working and security clearance; a short summary and the key skills; up to five recent engagements as a table of dates, client, role and outcome, with the duration, sector and technologies used; then certifications and education. Formatix fills it from the contractor's CV and your call notes, and the day rate, IR35 status and availability appear only as confirmed.

A contract client wants three answers before reading anything else: when can they start, what is the rate, and inside or outside IR35. This profile puts them at the top, with location, remote working and clearance, then gives the recent engagements in a short, scannable form. Each term shows only what the contractor or your notes confirmed; anything not confirmed prints "Not confirmed" rather than a guess.

    What's in the template

A short contractor submission profile of one to two pages: set out like a spec sheet: availability, day rate, IR35 status, location, remote working and security clearance as a plain terms table up front (only as confirmed), a short summary and the key skills, the most recent engagements as a table of dates, client, role and outcome, then certifications and education. Never infers a rate, IR35 status or availability.

Download or automate? The free download is a plain file you fill in by hand. In Formatix the template is rebuilt in your brand, with your logo, colours and fonts taken from your website, and filled from a CV or your notes in about a minute. What you keep is the finished document: an editable Word, PowerPoint or Excel file.

Ask for changes in plain words, such as "move the photo to the right" or "add a Languages section", and the template is updated with the rest of its formatting kept. If you already have a document you send clients, upload that instead and Formatix turns it into a template. How Studio builds templates

    Questions about this template

Will it fill in a day rate or IR35 status?
Only as the contractor or your notes confirm them. A day rate is never taken from the role, the market, a previous contract or a rate card, and an hourly or annual figure is never converted. IR35 status is never assumed from a limited company, the role or previous contracts. Anything not confirmed prints "Not confirmed".
    How is availability shown?
Only as stated. It is never worked out from the end date of the current contract. The footer reminds the client that availability, day rate and IR35 status are as confirmed by the contractor and should be checked before engagement.
How is it different from the contractor CV?
The contractor CV is the agency's full CV format, two to three pages with a technical skills table, every engagement with deliverables and earlier career. The contractor profile is the quick submission version: the terms as a plain table, a summary and key skills, up to five recent engagements, then certifications and education.
Can a previous client stay confidential?
Yes. When your notes say a client must not be named, the engagement shows a general description instead, such as "A UK high-street bank". The contractor's contact details are never printed.
Where does security clearance come from?
Only from the CV or your notes, with the level and whether it is active as stated. A clearance is never assumed because a past client was a government body.
