IT consultant bench hotlist
A bench hotlist is the weekly list of available consultants an IT staffing vendor sends to clients and prime vendors. Formatix builds it from each consultant's resume and your notes, one row per consultant, with rate, work authorization and availability only as stated and live counts at the top.

What it is
Vendors send their bench to clients and prime vendors every week so they can submit consultants to open requirements. The hotlist has to be quick to scan: skill, years, technologies, location, availability, work authorization and rate.
The Formatix template is one Excel sheet: a cover block with the vendor, date and contact for submissions, live counts of consultants listed, average total years, those available immediately and those open to relocation, then one row per consultant.
Every cell comes from the consultant's resume or your notes. A cell with nothing stated stays blank.
What Formatix fills in
| Field | Filled from |
|---|---|
| Vendor, hotlist date and contact for submissions | Your notes only |
| Consultant name | The resume; initials when your notes say the hotlist is anonymised |
| Primary skill, key technologies and certifications | The resume, as written |
| Total years and US or UK years | As stated, or counted only from dated roles and their stated locations |
| Current location, relocation, availability, work authorization, rate | Only as the resume or your notes state them |
| Notes | The resume or your notes |
What stays blank
| Field | Why it stays blank |
|---|---|
| A rate, visa status or availability that is not stated | Never inferred from the skill, the market, a name, a nationality or the end of the current project. |
| Years the dates do not support | Left blank rather than rounded or guessed. |
| Contact details and current client names | Never printed unless your notes ask for them. |
Frequently asked questions
- How does the hotlist grow?
- Each resume adds one row, in upload order, and the counts at the top recalculate.
- Our client has its own resume format. Can we use that?
- Yes. Upload your client's mandated format and Formatix builds the template from it, so every consultant you submit goes in the layout the client asked for.
- Does it work with our ATS or CRM?
- JobAdder, Salesforce, HubSpot and Ezekia connect to Formatix natively on every plan, including the free trial. Any other ATS or CRM works with Formatix by email: send the resumes and your notes to [email protected] and the filled document comes back.
