Board and NED CV template
A board CV presents a non-executive director, chair or trustee with the board portfolio first and the executive career as background. This Word template puts the name and the board roles held beside the photo, or initials without one; a strip of three board credentials (sectors, board experience and professional standing, as stated); the board profile; the current board portfolio as a table with each organisation, a line on what it is, the role, the committees and the start date; board contribution; previous board roles; the executive career condensed to one line of scope per role; and education and memberships. Formatix writes it from the CV and your notes, and never infers a board seat, a committee or a company's size.
A portfolio non-executive is read by a nominations committee for their boards, committees and chairs, not their last executive job. Most CVs bury those at the end. This layout leads with them, exactly as the CV gives them: nothing is counted, totalled or estimated.

Questions about this template
- Will it add a committee the candidate has not stated?
- No. A board seat, committee membership or chair appears only when the CV or your notes state it. An accountant is not shown on an audit committee unless the CV says so, and a board seat is never inferred from an executive title.
- How is it different from the executive CV?
- The executive CV is an executive's two-page CV with board roles as a closing table. This one is for a portfolio career: the current boards come first, and the executive career is condensed to one line of scope per role.
- Does it describe the organisations?
- Each current board has a short line on what the organisation is, only as the CV states it. Formatix never estimates a company's size, revenue, listing or ownership.
- Is time commitment included?
- Only when the CV or your notes state it, for example availability for one further role. It is never inferred.
