Operative competency and card expiry matrix
An operative competency matrix is the sheet that shows every operative's cards and tickets on a site or framework, with the expiries that need attention. Formatix fills a row for each operative from their documents, copies every date as written, and the sheet colours a full date red when it has passed and amber within 90 days.
No credit card. Your first ten CVs are free, and the trial credits are valid for 14 days.
What it is
Agencies and site teams keep card expiry spreadsheets so that nobody turns up with a lapsed card or ticket. They are usually typed by hand from card photos.
The Formatix workbook has one row per operative: name and trade; CSCS card type, number and expiry; CPCS or NPORS plant card with categories and expiry; SMSTS or SSSTS with expiry; other tickets; for rail work the Sentinel number, PTS expiry, medical expiry and last drug and alcohol test; and notes. Live counts at the top show expired items and items expiring within 90 days of the as-at date.
A date given only as a month and year is copied as written and not coloured: Formatix never adds a day the documents do not give.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the sheet decide whether a card is valid?
- No. It compares the expiry dates you have with the as-at date. Cards should still be checked on CSCS Smart Check and competences on Sentinel.
- Can we add operatives later?
- Yes. Each run fills rows for the operatives you send, and the workbook can be edited like any Excel file.
- Does it work with our ATS or CRM?
- JobAdder, Salesforce, HubSpot and Ezekia connect to Formatix natively on every plan, including the free trial. Any other ATS or CRM works with Formatix by email: send the CV and your notes to [email protected] and the filled document comes back.
