Expert profile and expert witness CV formatting
Formatix AI reformats experts' CVs and LinkedIn exports into your standard profile format, in bulk. Expert networks upload their client-facing profile template once and get every expert in the same layout, with the experience relevant to the client's question first; litigation support teams and expert witness practices get CVs that set out qualifications, appointments, publications and prior testimony the way their template orders them. Your team checks each profile beside the original before it is sent.
It is built for expert networks and research teams that present several experts per client request, and for firms that put forward expert witnesses in litigation and arbitration, where the CV is read alongside the expert's report.
No credit card. Your first ten CVs are free, and the trial credits are valid for 14 days.
Expert networks: the same profile, every time
A client request for experts on a market or a company produces a shortlist of profiles, often within hours. Each expert's background arrives differently: a LinkedIn export, a CV, notes from a screening call. The research associate rewrites each into the network's profile format, puts the relevant roles first, and keeps the wording consistent across a shortlist that may hold several experts.
Formatix fills the network's own profile template from each source document and your screening notes, so the shortlist arrives in one format, written the same way, whichever associate prepared it.
Expert witnesses: a CV that supports the report
There is no mandated expert witness CV format, but the rules make qualifications part of the evidence. In England and Wales, Practice Direction 35, paragraph 3.2(1), says an expert's report must give details of the expert's qualifications. In US federal courts, Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 26(a)(2)(B) requires a retained expert's report to contain the witness's qualifications, including a list of all publications authored in the previous 10 years, a list of all other cases in which, during the previous 4 years, the witness testified as an expert at trial or by deposition, and a statement of the compensation to be paid.
A consistent CV format makes those facts easy to find and to check: qualifications and appointments first, then publications, prior testimony and professional experience, in the same order for every expert your firm puts forward.
How it works
- 1
Upload your format once
Use the expert network profile or expert witness CV from the Studio library, or upload your own template in Word. Formatix keeps the layout and emails you a filled sample to check.
- 2
Drop in the source documents
Upload CVs, LinkedIn PDF exports or bios as a batch, in any layout or more than 40 languages, with a note per expert: the client's question, or the matter, and what to put first.
- 3
Check and send
Each profile comes back in your format, about thirty seconds per document, beside the original. Edit in place, then download editable Word files or save them as PDF.
Templates
WordExpert network profile (Word)A client-facing expert profile, named or with an expert ID: roles with dates, companies, sectors and geographies, topics the expert can speak to, and compliance notes.
WordExpert witness CV (Word)An expert witness CV: field of expertise, qualifications and memberships, expert witness experience when stated, professional experience, publications, training and a declaration placeholder.
Each is rebuilt in your brand before you use it, or upload the format you already use.
What Formatix does not do
- It does not verify an expert's credentials, employment or testimony history. It lays out what the source documents and your notes say; checking them stays with your compliance or legal team.
- It does not decide what must be disclosed under a court's rules. Lists of publications or prior testimony appear only if the source contains them.
- It does not invent experience. Anything missing stays blank for your team to complete.
A worked example
Take Halvard Insight, a fictional expert network. A client asks for former procurement leaders from European logistics companies. The research team screens six experts by phone and has their LinkedIn exports and two CVs.
An associate uploads the six documents with a note for each: the client's question and the roles to lead with. Formatix fills the network's profile template for all six, the relevant roles first and the wording consistent across the shortlist. The associate adds one point from a screening call, and compliance checks the profiles before they go to the client.
Separately, the litigation team at a fictional consultancy, Brennock Forensic, puts forward a quantum expert in an arbitration. The expert's CV, a long academic document, is filled into the firm's expert witness CV template: appointments and qualifications first, then publications and prior expert work as the CV lists them, ready for the instructing lawyers to review against the tribunal's requirements.
