In-house talent teams · Succession planning
Is there software that builds succession planning reports and 9-box grids in your own template?
Yes. Formatix takes what your talent team already holds, internal profiles or CVs, the performance and potential ratings agreed in calibration, readiness assessments and development notes, and produces the talent-review pack in your company's own PowerPoint, Word or Excel template, including the 9-box grid, succession slates and successor profiles. Where each person sits on the grid comes from your calibration, not from the software.
No card needed. Trial credits are valid for 14 days; plans start at £20 a month.
Why the pack takes weeks
For a CHRO or head of talent, the talent review is one of the few HR documents the board reads closely. The decisions are made in calibration. The pack that records them is then built by hand: a 9-box grid redrawn in PowerPoint, a slate for each critical role, a profile for every named successor, and a summary for the executive committee.
Each of those is copied from the same underlying data, so a late change in calibration means updating it in four places.
What Formatix produces
- The 9-box grid, with people placed where your calibration put them, using your own labels for the axes and boxes.
- Succession slates for critical roles, with your readiness categories.
- Successor profiles built from internal profiles or CVs and your development notes.
- A board summary and a detailed HR version from the same inputs, by keeping two templates.
- Output in your company's PowerPoint, Word or Excel template, editable before it goes to the board.
Your calibration, your decisions
Formatix does not rate performance or potential and does not decide where anyone sits on the 9-box. It places people exactly where your ratings put them and lays your notes into the profiles. The talent decisions remain with the people who made them in the room.
Talent data is sensitive: it is processed in the UK and EU under GDPR and is not used to train AI models.
Frequently asked questions
- Does Formatix decide where people sit on the 9-box?
- No. The placements come from the ratings your team agreed in calibration. Formatix draws the grid and fills the slates and profiles from them.
- Can we use our own 9-box labels and readiness categories?
- Yes. The labels, categories and layout come from your own template.
- Can we produce a board version and a detailed HR version?
- Yes. Keep two templates, for example a one-page board summary and a full pack for the executive committee, and run the same inputs through each.
- What formats are supported?
- PowerPoint, Word and Excel, all editable, and PDF.
